In March 2006, Francesco Crosara
performed at the third annual Morelia Jazztival 2006 with a talented
sextet featuring Juan Alzate on tenor sax, cuban master percussionist
(and Grammy Award winner) Roberto Vizcaino, Efren Capiz on drums,
Ivan Lara on electic bass, and Flavio Meneses on electic guitars.

Playing to a sold out audience in the enclosed
square of a former 17th century cloister, the latin jazz quintet
performed mostly original compositions by Francesco, a blend of
jazz, classical, afrocuban and South American influences with
vibrant percussive and rhythmic elements.

Previously, in November 2005, Francesco appeared
with the same format in a more formal concert at the Teatro Ocampo,
with a 2 1/2 hour concert which brought the audience on its feet.

The 2005 reunion - facilitated by saxophonist and
promoter Juan Alzate - represented the return of Francesco back
to Mexico after a 22 year period.

The press reviews and photos below document the
two tours to Morelia and provide a flavor of the performances and
the great art, culture and architecture of Mexico and its people. |
